General floor
care for Glazed Ceramic tile
Glazed ceramic tile usually requires less
maintenance than most other types of floors used in most home environments. Glazed
ceramic tile flooring never needs a wax or polish to bring back it's shine.
Just
be sure to keep sand and grit off of the tile, this could scratch the glazing
over a period of time. For general tile floor care follow these steps:
| |
| Sweep,
or vacuum glazed tile regularly.
Wash regularly to remove dirt and grit
with a mild, diluted detergent solution. Most household detergents, such as Mr.
Clean or Spic & Span, as well as many other found in the supermarkets may
be used. When in doubt consult the tile manufacturer's cleaning recommendations.
Stay away from ammonia based cleaners, they may discolor your grout. Also,
do not clean glazed tiles with oil-based cleaners.
After cleaning with
a mild detergent rinse thoroughly with clean, warm water to help remove any leftover
residue. If needed wipe dry with a clean towel to remove any film.
For
soft water situations you may need to use an all purpose cleaner, such as Fantastic,
or Top Job. Apply to the floor, let stand for 3 - 5 minutes than lightly scrub
with a sponge and rinse well. |
